Busier than a one armed paper hanger...

Sorry. I watched "Steel Magnolias" the other night, so I'll be full of Southern expressions for a while to come.

Zane loved "his" new bike. Oh boy...

JUDE loved his new bike. Jude's. It's Jude's bike. Wanna take a guess how many times we've said that the past 24 hours???

Zane also wanted Jude's helmet. Which warranted an emergency visit to Walmart, where I gladly forked over $20 for an ELMO helmet. There. Issue resolved. I keep forgetting you can't reason with a 2 year old. It seems like forever since I've had a 2 year old. Guess what? This is the last 2 year old I will ever have. *grinning*

They rode round and round in circles in the garage.

"I have super powers. I can make Mommy fly to Walmart in a single bound..."

SEE how clean the garage is??? SEE? SEE? SEE? :)

WHAT HAVE I GOTTEN MYSELF INTO?????

We knew going into Saturday, we had a LOT to do. I mean, A LOT. I scampered off to the one, single, solitary yard sale in the tri city area, feeling a little silly for doing so, since we had so much to do. I'm so very glad I went, though, because besides clothes for the kids for next year, some games (Connect Four, anyone?) and some great jeans for me (*ahem* that don't fit yet)and I found bikes for the kids!! Laney had two bike rejects, and Jude didn't have a big boy bike at all. So the kids were crazy excited to see their new bikes. They ended up coming in very handy that day, too.

We had to tackle the garage. We cleared out a bunch of stuff, as you saw, in the garage sale, but our garage was dirty, disorganized and just plain neglected. The bad thing about having a huge garage sale is that you have to have a place to store the stuff you want to sell, and so our garage became a dumping ground for the last year. No more. We worked, sweated, toiled and nearly killed ourselves. But, at the end of a long day, we had a clean garage. Allen even wanted to sit out there on his miraculous Saturday night off and just look at it. I passed on that idea.

Along with riding bikes, the kids played in the rain. Well, Zane didn't. He doesn't like to get messy. (Yes, I see the irony.) Laney and Jude had a blast, though. And it cooled things off in the garage for us too.

There was one other monumental thing we had to do Saturday. Firm up our interior paint color choices and buy the darn paint. I've been dreading it, and although I'm not usually an indecisive person, I just didn't want to make a mistake with the colors. So it was a painful process, but it is DONE. And thank you to those who worked through this process with me. I know you're as relived as I am that it's over. Oh and get this. We made $370 at the garage sale, and guess how much we spent on paint most of the supplies???? $360. I couldn't have planned that if I had tried!!!!!

Now, I have four weeks to get this house painted. And no, I'm not stressing. Heh.

We topped the day off with cool showers, Tortuga's pizza and the Daytona 500. I got Laney's new curriculum all organzed and put away. All and all, it was a good, yes busy, day.
